Three Independent Power Producers are expected to add 105 megawatts of geothermal power to national power grid by end of next year after securing credit guarantees from the African Development Bank. This is expected to see the three independent power producers secure capital for construction of power plants for the project. Geothermal Development Company Managing Director Johnson Ole Nchoe says a steam report by an independent consultant shows that Menengai has enough steam that can be sustained for the next 25 years.
