USA, Oregon:

Newberry Volcano Symposium

Hosted by the Pacific NW Chapter, GRC and the US Forest Service

August 22-23, 2013

Deschutes National Forest Headquarters Office, Bend, OR (Map)

Much geological and geophysical data has been generated on Newberry Volcano in the last few years, much of it related to geothermal exploration.  This spurred discussions of how to provide and share data with scientists working on or having a strong interest in the volcano.  As a result, the USDA Forest Service and the Northwest Section of the Geothermal Resources Council are jointly hosting an open forum for those with data and interpretations to share with other scientists.

The main purpose of this meeting is to share information - rather than present ready-for-publication material. It is hoped that the meeting will be one of interaction rather than one of lectures. Agenda (PDF)

There is no charge to attend and the event is open to all interested parties.
